Platform SpeechThroughout my time on the debate team I did several platform speeches - two After Dinner Speeches and a Communication Analysis (CA). Those allowed me to explore topics I find interesting and educate my audience about subjects they might have not otherwise considered.

DebatePart of the requirements for the class was to also compete in debate. I did a few semesters of IPDA. For me it was an amazing experience as it allowed me to practice my critical listening and argumentation skills.

Limited PrepLimited Preparation Speeches were also part of the events I did - my favourite kind of a speech. Those events allowed me to use the broad knowledge I have and incorporate it in an argument concerning current events. I did Impromptu and Extemporaneous Speaking. I actually won 1st place for Junior Extemporaneous Speaking in the Steve Hunt Classic Tournament in 2019.
